This Chinese export famille verte shrimp dish, c. 1850. The dish measures 10 3/4" x 10" x 1 7/8" high. The colors include red-orange, bright green, blue and black. Condition is very good with only a slight bit of fritting on some edges.

Decorated in marvelous, bright pastels, and festooned with foo dogs and dragons, this Chinese vase makes a handsome presence where ever it perches. It measures 17" high, and 6" at the base, while it measures 8 1/2" at its widest point. The two reserves both on the neck and the body of the vase depict Mandarin women in rich dress. Condition is largely flawless, with only a 1/2" chip on the underside of the upper lip. ...click for details

The large outer border painted with floral reserves surrounding the inner field painted with an architectural and figural image. There are standing figures placed with a courtyard and boats with figures navigating the canal. There is a wonderful naive interpretation of scale as the boats are almost child size.
