This late, Nineteenth Century carved agate group with birds and flowers, is mounted on a bronzed later base (c. 1920) and is typical of the lighting favored during the first years of the last century. The actual carving measures 7" high, and 4 1.4" wide. The stand is 4 1/4" high, and from the base to the top of the fixtures is 17" high. A fine Chinese late 19th century carved soap stone sculpture, c. 1880. The center, with reticulated lantern flanked and capped with foo dogs. The stone is reddish brown and is in very good condition.
