A fine Early Nineteenth Century American painted blanket chest, probably Pennsylvania or New York State, circa 1820. The chest constructed of poplar has a wonderful and original painted surface with repeating swirls in a mustard colored paint. Condition is very good. An Eighteenth Century American comb back Windsor rocking chair, circa 1780. The chair has a serpentine shaped crest above a spindled back over a D-shaped seat above ring and baluster turned legs. The chair was later adapted as a rocking chair in the 19th Century. The surface is painted black. Condition: Very good. Dimensions: Height: 43"(back), Depth: 17 1/4" (seat), Width: 24" (arm to arm).
A fine American Chippendale cherry chest on chest, New York, Circa 1770. The uppercase with a bold crown molded cornice above four long drawers with brass pulls. The drawers are flanked by fluted chamferred corners. The lower case with three drawers and a gadrooned skirt over strong claw and ball feet on the front and ogee bracket feet on the rear.
